George Donald

Born: South India 1943

Graduated in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art 1967 – post graduate year and travelling scholarship 1968-9. Post Grad. Study Hornsey College of Art, London. Degree of Master of Education 1980 University  of Edinburgh.

Appointed Lecturer in drawing, painting, and printmaking, anatomy ECA. Subsequently: Assistant Vice Principal, Director of Centre for Continuing Studies, Director of Summer School, Edinburgh College of Art.

Visiting Prof./artist (with British Council inter alia) in France, India, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, USA, UAE.

Elected Member, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Scottish Society for Watercolourists for over 20 years.

Currently retired from full-time academic work to concentrate on studio work towards solo and group exhibitions and accepting commissions. Appointed external examiner for Highlands and Islands University. Offer lectures in Anatomy and Drawing (summer semester) in Art Dept, University of Central Florida. USA.

Appointed Keeper of the Royal Scottish Academy in 2003.
